With a smile and a song, Disney has released a glimpse at the new music embedded in its upcoming Snow White live action film, starring Rachel Zegler (Romeo and Juliet) and Gal Gadot. Take a look at "Waiting on a Wish," written by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, in the clip above.
With original songs by Pasek and Paul, the live-action film also
incorporates many of the 1937 animated film's songs by Frank Churchill
and Larry Morey. "Waiting on a Wish" is a notable departure from the
1937 score, with Pasek and Paul bringing their trademark contemporary sound in contrast to the classically inspired 1937 music.
Snow White will be released in theatres March 21, 2025. The new film is directed by Mike Webb and produced by Marc Platt and Jared LeBoff. It is based on the 1937 Disney animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
Zegler and Gadot are joined in the film by Andrew Burnap, Martin Klebba, Patrick Page, and Ansu Kabia. The screenplay is written by Greta Gerwig and Erin Cressida Wilson.
