It looks like the over-the-elbow gloves are coming off in the second season of HBO's The Gilded Age. New money Bertha Russell is asking New York high society to choose sides as she goes head-to-head against Mrs. Astor. All eight episodes of Season 2 are set to hit the streamer October 29. Tony and Emmy nominee Carrie Coon stars as Bertha Russell, wife of the fictional railroad magnate George, played by Morgan Spector. The series is piled with Tony winners, nominees, and Broadway favorites, including Donna Murphy as Mrs. Astor, Christine Baranski and Cynthia Nixon as high society sisters Agnes and Ada, Nathan Lane as Southern gent Ward McAllister, Denée Benton as Brooklynite journalist Peggy Scott, and Audra McDonald and John Douglas Thompson as her well-to-do parents.
The cast for Season 2 also includes Louisa Jacobson, Ben Ahlers, Michael Cerveris, Kelley Curran, Taissa Farmiga, Jack Gilpin, Simon Jones, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Claybourne Elder, Debra Monk, Kristine Nielsen, Kelli O’Hara, Patrick Page, Harry Richardson, Taylor Richardson, Blake Ritson, Douglas Sills, Erin Wilhelmi, Ashlie Atkinson, Laura Benanti, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Christopher Denham, David Furr, Ward Horton, Matilda Lawler, and Robert Sean Leonard.
