Off-Broadway News Vineyard Theatre Announces New General Manager and Director of Production

The Off-Broadway company has also revealed its inaugural Miranda Family Fellow.

Off-Broadway's Vineyard Theatre has announced a number of new faces joining its staff. Alma Malabanan-McGrath has been named the company's new general manager, and Corrine Livingston will be director of production.

Malabanan-McGrath comes to Vineyard after serving as the first-ever general manager of Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival, and previously worked as director of operations for The New 42. Livingston was previously audio supervisor for The Public and spent a decade at Long Warf Theatre.

The company has also announced the inaugural Miranda Family Development Fellow, Shania Benjamin. The school-to-career program provides fellows with training and work experience along with a full-time salary with benefits. The program looks to aid early career arts administrators from historically underrepresented groups, with a planned expansion encompassing marketing, production, and finance and administration by 2025.

"We are thrilled to welcome Alma and Corrine to the Vineyard team," say Managing Director Suzanne Appel and Artistic Directors Sarah Stern and Douglas Aibel in a joint statement. "They are remarkable theatre professionals who bring experience, leadership, and creativity to their roles. At a time when our field is navigating major necessary changes, the talent and diverse perspectives of our senior staff strengthen our institution and our ability to support daring artists and to produce their work at the highest level."

Vineyard's extended production of David Cale's Sandra played its final performance December 18. Looking ahead, the Off-Broadway company will join Second Stage Theater to co-produce Tony- and Pulitzer-winning A Strange Loop writer Michael R. Jackson's new musical White Girl in Danger, beginning March 14, 2023, at Second Stage's Tony Kiser Theater.
