The Tony-winning musical will begin performances at the Washington, D.C., venue May 12.

Rehearsals are currently underway for the Kennedy Center's upcoming run of Monty Python's Spamalot, which will play the D.C. venue's Eisenhower Theater May 12–21.

The cast, largely a Beetlejuice reunion, will be led by Alex Brightman as Sir Lancelot, James Monroe Iglehart as King Arthur, Leslie Rodriguez Kritzer as Lady of the Lake, Rob McClure as The Historian/Prince Herbert, Michael Urie as Sir Robin, Jimmy Smagula as Sir Bedevere, Matthew Saldivar as Patsy, and Nik Walker as Sir Galahad, along with Saldivar. The ensemble will include Phillip Attmore, Daniel Beeman, Maria Briggs, Michael Fatica, Ryan Kasprzak, Eloise Kropp, Daniel May, Shina Ann Morris, Kaylee Olson, and Kristin Piro.

The musical, which premiered on Broadway in 2005, features music by John Du Prez and Eric Idle and a book and lyrics by Idle. Adapted from the film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, the musical follows King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table on their quest for the Holy Grail, complete with coconut-shell horse hooves, shrubbery, the Knights Who Say "Ni!," and more. The original Broadway production won three Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

Josh Rhodes (Bright Star, It Shoulda Been You) will direct and choreograph the Kennedy Center production, with John Bell (Into the Woods) music directing. The creative team will also include scenic and projection designer Paul Tate dePoo III, costume designer Jen Caprio, lighting designer Cory Pattak, sound designer Haley Parcher, and wig designer Tom Watson.
