A concert version of Peter Seibert and Patrick Lundquist’s Swan Lake: The Musical, featuring the Hollywood Chamber Orchestra, will be presented December 17 at The Montalbán Theater in Hollywood. Here is an exclusive first look with a performance by Carrie St. Louis and Carrie Manolakos.

As previously announced, composer, lyricist, and performer Andrew Lippa will star in the 8 PM performance alongside St. Louis (Wicked, Rock of Ages), Manolakos (Wicked, Mamma Mia!), Luann Aronson (Phantom of the Opera), Mario Jose (American Idol), Blake Segal (Mary Poppins), Liam Roberts in his L.A. stage debut, and a backing choir of ensemble members.

Sammi Cannold, who directed the recent concert production of Ragtime on Ellis Island and is assistant director on Broadway’s Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812, will direct.

The story, according to press notes, “follows Odette, a princess under a curse who has been kept secret from her own empire. When impending war threatens the empire of Swan Lake, Odette’s existence is revealed and she must choose between her love, her family, and her empire to bring peace. Based on the legends that inspired Tchaikovsky’s famous ballet, Swan Lake: The Musical is an epic and sweeping retelling of the classic tale.”

Seibert and Lundquist are a writing team based in Los Angeles. Seibert has written additional music for Footloose, Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, and Lifetime’s Drop Dead Diva. Lundquist’s work has appeared on the albums of multiple Grammy winners, including Adam Lambert and Al Jarreau.

The Montalbán Theater is located at 1615 Vine Street in Los Angeles, CA. For more information and tickets, visit TheMontalban.com and SwanLakeMusical.com. Visit the musical’s Facebook page here.
