The classic 1953 musical comedy Wonderful Town has replaced The Wild Party as the final production of the 2025 City Center Encores! season.

Directed by Zhailon Levingston (Cats: “The Jellicle Ball”) with Encores! Music Director Mary-Mitchell Campbell leading The Encores! Orchestra, the Leonard Bernstein, Betty Comden, and Adolph Green musical will be presented at the Manhattan venue April 30-May 11, 2025. Due to scheduling conflicts, Michael John LaChiusa's Wild Party will now be presented during the 2026 Encores! season.

Wonderful Town, which follows sisters Ruth and Eileen, who move from Ohio to Greenwich Village to pursue their artistic ambitions, was previously seen at City Center in 1958, 1963, and 1966. Encores! also presented the musical in 2000, starring Donna Murphy and Laura Benanti; that production transferred to Broadway in 2003 with Murphy and Jennifer Westfeldt.

The 2025 Encores! season also includes Urinetown (February 5–16, 2025) directed by Teddy Bergman; and Love Life (March 26–30, 2025) directed by Victoria Clark.
