The "unconventional" new musical by Bartram and Hill is described as "a joyous and moving look at our surprisingly interconnected lives," according to press notes. "Written specifically for and about college students and inspired by true stories, The Theory of Relativity gets inside the hearts and minds of today's millennial generation and introduces a wide array of characters experiencing the inevitability and wonder of human connection."
The cast features Victoria Abhalter, Claire Avakian, Matthew Borchers, Aaron Boudreaux, Audra Bryant, Kyra Faith, Andrew Gallop, Dorcas Leung, Lindsey Mader, Kassiani Menas, Kelly Methven, Katie Perry, Basit Shittu and Andy Tofa.
This concert version will be directed by Hill with music direction by Bartram.
The Theory of Relativity was commissioned and developed by the Canadian Music Theatre Project, Sheridan College, Michael Rubinoff, producer, Oakville, Ontario, Canada. (The Theory of Relativity is concurrently being presented in a full production at Goodspeed Musicals' Norma Terris Theatre.)
Bartram and Hill are the Drama Desk-nominated authors of the Broadway musical The Story of My Life. They are currently working on stage adaptations of Ray Bradbury's Something Wicked This Way Comes and Disney's Bedknobs and Broomsticks.
