Surflight Theatre an LOA/CORST theatre, located in Beach Haven NJ, 2 hours south of NYC on the Jersey Shore is seeking Singers who are also excellent dancers for their upcoming production of Hoagy Carcmichael's Stardust Road. First rehearsal on or around 8/22/24. Show Opens 9/4/24, Closes 9/15/24

Hoagy Carmichael’s Stardust Road is a musical journey that tells the story of six friends and the one man who brought them together. The musical is told completely through the the sophisticated music of Hoagy Carmichael. The seven friends weave a story of camaraderie and shifting relationships through four decades in America: the early years of ragtime, jazz and blues; the romance of New York in the 1930’s; the tumultuous and uncertain years of the World War II era; and the post-war Golden Age of Hollywood — all while walking down Hoagy Carmichael’s Stardust Road.

All performers are 20's to 30's, strong singer/dancers who can hold close harmony

Max (Male. Black) Tenor 2 to Ab,, Jazz/blues style a must. Good legit vocal ability for harmony blending. Elegant, distinguished, grounded - excellent dancer

Gloria (Female.. Black) Soprano 2 (touching a G) - ingenue type with a good mix. Ability to hold a room singing "Stardust". Excellent dancer

Clara (Female Any race) Soprano 1-G, also a strong mix/belt G below mid C to E(a 10th above mid C) Ingenue quality with some strong torch singing ability as well. Excellent partnering skills,ballet or ballroom training a plus, excellent tapper,

Buster (Male. Black) Bari-tenor to A, folksy style, looking for the ability to de-emphasize good legit singing (though good legit singing is a must). (As a reference, Hoagy's recorded voice)

Charlie (Male Any race) Bari-Tenor to G#,, folksy style, looking for the ability to de-emphasize good legit singing (though good legit singing is a must). Excellent tap soloist and partnering skills.
