About the Role

Spiegelworld is looking for Head Wardrobe to join the team at THE HOOK within Caesars in Atlantic City. This position reports directly to the Associate General Manager. Summary of major responsibilities include have working knowledge and operational skills of wardrobe department, attend required rehearsals, perform a cue track during shows, be alert and focused during rehearsals and performances, and assist with work calls to include but not limited to: building costumes, costume fittings, laundry & dry cleaning, and costume repair knowledge. This is a full time position that pays $40/ hour.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with ongoing Wardrobe department operations; duties include sewing, fittings, alterations, painting, dying, supervising wig styling and makeup
  • Oversee onsite Wardrobe Department management tasks such as: active and inactive inventory and storage, keeping all inventory documents up-to-date, keeping all dressing notes up-to-date
  • Actively engage in our antiracist commitment and internal practices by participating in offered learnings, engaging in conversations around Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, and helping us maintain a safe and welcoming workspace.
  • Maintain, fit, inspect, adjust, build and repair all costume pieces and accessories for the show to preserve the long-term integrity of the costume design
  • Assist with ordering, procuring and tracking of the department’s expendables and equipment
  • Collaborating with other departments as needed to run the performances and rehearsal
  • Work closely with General Manager, Crew Chief, Resident Director and Production Stage Manager to maintain the integrity of the show
  • Must have a strong ability to manage and prioritize a multitude of projects
  • Maintain a safe working environment at all times by conforming to all established safety policies and procedures
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 year or 4 year college degree or industry training such as FIT or Parson’s
  • Five years (5) of theatrical Wardrobe experience on a large-scale production
  • Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays
  • Proficient in the use and maintenance of all technical Wardrobe machinery and equipment
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms
  • Basic knowledge computer software to include Google Docs, Sheets and Meets, Zoom Meetings, MS Word, Excel, and Docs as well as office equipment, i.e. laminator, printer, scanner, P-touch labeler and copier
  • Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts
  • Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to company uniform and standards
  • Excellent organizational skills
