Since our founding, Playgarden Prep (playgardennyc.com) has focused on creating educational and developmental programs for the earliest learners. Our schools and education centers use a combination of Montessori-based curriculum, tailored songs and language curriculum, and other popular learning methods such as Reggio-Emilia, Waldorf, High Scope, and Play-Based learning. Our Park & 86th location is currently seeking teachers to join our team!

Playgarden is a premier provider of early education programs for children ages 12 months to 6 years, in NYC and around the world. By developing innovative programs tailored to the different educational stages of childhood, and through our team members’ love for early education, we strive to help children grow and thrive. Our team is composed of a diverse group of friendly, energetic, talented individuals who are passionate about helping little ones learn. We are currently seeking new teachers to join our team to teach our morning learning pods and enrichment classes throughout the day. Our teachers play an integral role in providing a warm, responsive and supportive atmosphere where children are able to learn and grow in all areas within a developmentally appropriate manner. This is a great entry-level opportunity for anyone who is looking to gain experience teaching young children, or for more experienced applicants as well.

About the job:
- As an Enrichment Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching various adult-accompanied "mommy and me" style classes throughout the day. Each class is typically 45 minutes and classes include Music, Movement, and Early Learning. You'll engage in age-appropriate activities for toddlers such as singing and dancing, obstacle courses, bubbles time, etc.
- As Learning Pods Teacher, you will be responsible for leading little ones through similar activities in a drop-off environment, as well as guided lessons in the classroom using Playgarden's curriculum.
- Playgarden teachers must have a comfortability with changing diapers and accompanying little ones to the restroom (we will provide training as-needed!)
- Additionally, you will likely be asked to help in our other preschool classrooms as-needed.
- Anticipated hours are Monday thru Wednesday, 8AM to 5PM (with a lunch break), though this is subject to change
- Rate of pay starts at $18-$20 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

About you:
- You have experience working with children ages 12 months to 4 years old
- You have experience or interest in becoming a preschool teacher
- You are positive, high-energy, and excited about instilling an early love of learning!
- You are well spoken and comfortable speaking with parents and caregivers
- You have a high school diploma or GED
- You are looking for a consistent schedule from now through June 4th, with opportunity to continue teaching with us into the summer and fall semesters
- A degree in early childhood education, theatre, or a related field is a plus!
