Robert V. Straus (Manager) Obituary
Robert V. Straus, who worked on Broadway as a producer, general manager and stage manager, died Oct. 4, 2009. Mr. Straus' final Broadway credit was the 2001 revival of Bells are Ringing, on which he served as general manager. 1999's short-lived Band in Berlin was a rare producing credit for him, as was the Off-Broadway production of Nicky Silver's The Food Chain.

He was an associate producer on the 1975 mounting of the ANTA play Summer Brave, a revised version of the Pulitzer-Prize winning comedy "Picnic." He assumed stage manager duties on Something's Afoot, Beatlemania, Broadway Follies and Woman of the Year. He was production supervisor on Little Johnny Jones and Rags. He was also general manager for the long-running revue I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change.

He is survived by his wife, Marguerite. Donations may be made in his memory to the Actors Fund of America, 729 7th Ave., 10th Fl, New York, NY 10019.
