Cecilia Hart, a Drama Desk Award winner for her performance in Dirty Linen & New-Found-Land, died October 16 at the age of 68. Ms. Hart, who was married to Oscar winner James Earl Jones, passed away following a battle with ovarian cancer, according to People.com.
Born in Cheyenne, WY, in February 1948, Ms. Hart made her Broadway debut in 1976 in a revival of The Heiress. She was also seen on Broadway in Othello, a 1982 production that cast Jones in the title role, and Design for Living (1984).
Ms. Hart, who was previously married to Bruce Weitz, reportedly met Jones in the late '70s on the set of the TV series Paris. The couple was married in 1982; Ms. Hart later gave birth to their one son, Flynn Earl Jones.
Ms. Hart's numerous screen credits include Gabriel's Fire, MacGyver, Starting Now, The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd, Mr. Sunshine, Freedom to Speak, The Silent Lovers, Paris, Quincy M.E., Three's Company, The Runaways, Emergency!, and A Woman Called Moses.
