Priscilla Gillette, the Broadway soprano who appeared in the musicals Brigadoon, The Golden Apple, Regina and Out of This World, died at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York Feb. 2, 2006, following a period of declining health, according to a published notice from her family. Priscilla Gillette Perrone was 80, and was a native of Tenafly, NJ.

She made her Broadway debut in Brigadoon, taking over the role of Fiona, the romantic lead, on Broadway. Doors to choice roles opened. She played Alexandra Giddens in Regina, the 1949 Marc Blitzstein adaptation of Lillian Hellman's The Little Foxes, and won a Theatre World Award for it.

She played Helen in Cole Porter's 1950 musical, Out Of This World (singing "Use Your Imagination," "I Am Loved," "No Lover" and joining in the trio, "What Do You Think About Men?") and John Latouche's The Golden Apple (in the frisky 1954 re-telling of "The Odyssey," she played Penelope, singing "My Love Is on the Way" and dueting on "It's the Going Home Together"). Her work is preserved on cast albums.

Ms. Perrone appeared in the early days of television, and was featured on the soap "Edge of Night" over the years.

She is survived by daughters Alexandra Lowell Gifford and Jeanne Rose Perrone, son Andrew David Perrone, and grandchildren Jasmine and Jordon.
