Martin McDonagh's The Cripple of Inishmaan is based on actual events — in 1934, Robert J. Flaherty brought a film crew to the tiny island of Inishmaan to capture life there and on other surrounding islands. Daniel Radcliffe stars as Billy, a young man with a disability who vies for a part in the Hollywood film in hopes of escaping the boredom, gossip, poverty and isolation of his life. Michael Grandage will direct the production at the Cort Theatre.
