Well, New Yorkers!! This season, America’s Fashion Capital shook hands firmly with America’s Theatre Capital, and it was all on display on the red carpet for the 71st Annual Tony Awards. We have Anna Wintour to thank, because Hollywood had nothing, and I mean nothing on the East Coast last night as the stars were shining brighter than ever on Broadway!

Laura Linney in Derek Lam was all about bold color and the beaded trend…. Looking totally like a ball of fire!
Bette Midler absolutely shimmered in Michael Kors. The bell sleeves and silver and dark grey metallic beading…. So modern and chic! Iconic!
Stephanie J. Block in J. Mendel. All about beaded and micro-pleating embellishment in a “goddess gown,” floating on a dove-grey silver cloud!
Brandon Uranowitz in Brunello and Ben Platt in David Hart. Navy tuxes with black lapels! Excellent and so red-carpet-worthy!
Condola Rashad in a Vivienne Westwood tea-length dress. A dramatically sculpted black top with a pop of orange and gold all comes together with beautiful gold drop-earrings and gold accessorizing her hair. Breathtaking!
Cynthia Nixon in Rosie Assoulin. A pale, pale pink column in a tea-length. Simple and stately with a dramatic bow detail and train in the back!
Andy Karl classically handsome in Brooks Brothers and Orfeh in an art-deco inspired gunmetal column! Look at that beading and the chevron detailing by Thea!
Scarlett Johansson
Joseph Marzullo/WENN
Michelle Wilson in Hakaan. Off the shoulder and brilliant red, she pops it all with a red lip. Did I mention “red”? Red for miles!!
Sarah Paulson in this Rodarte white, textured, and beaded column. The diamond statement drop earring and cocktail ring tops it all off!
John Mulaney shows us how to wear a white dinner jacket on the red carpet, looking young and cool and Nick Kroll in a terrific slate grey tux with black accents. Another example of something different but dynamic.
Anna Kendrick in Miu Miu! Tiny white appliqued flowers scattered on black chiffon with a sweet little red bow tucked at that sexy bodice. Wow!

Sally Field in Christian Siriano. A deep midnight blue off-the shoulder with beaded bodice and feather detailing cascading down the full skirt. Gorgeous!
Jenn Colella in Elizabeth Kennedy, a white sculpted full-out gown with a portrait collar framing that wonderful short hair and diamond statement earrings.
Rachel Bay Jones in a bold strapless turquoise ball gown by Christian Siriano, perfectly fitted and so chic! And I love the gold circle earrings!
Andrew Rannells
Kate Baldwin in Cristina Ottaviano Custom! This brilliant blue, duchess satin, Charles James-inspired sculpted gown was a knock-out. Dripping in diamonds and sapphire jewelry by Robert Fabricant!
Mary Beth Peil who is wearing Escada and looking elegant, regal, and chic.
It’s so exciting to see a new joy, festivity, and glamour celebrated both onstage and “out in the house” in the theatre world, and we say a loud “Bravo!!”…. #andScene.
