The McKittrick Hotel
The McKittrick Hotel, home to one of New York City's most beloved immersive theatrical experiences, the long-running Sleep No More, turns up the heat for Halloween with the return of its Inferno dance party October 28, 29, and 31. Titled Supercinema, the evening is inspired by the golden age of Hollywood horror films and features dancing, live performances, costumed revelry, and an open bar. The Rocky Horror Picture Show
Head to the Cinepolis Chelsea Cinemas for a midnight screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show October 28-31. As is tradition, a live cast performs in costume in front of the screen as the movie plays. Props, dressing up, and audience participation are highly encouraged. Slumber
What better way to spend the Halloween weekend than with a girl squad, made up of international circus performers and dancers on the very last night of their lives? Hideaway, a Brooklyn-based circus and theatrical production company creating live and virtual experiences, has taken over Bushwick’s 7,000 square-foot House of Yes, and invites you to decide who gets to live and who dies. The show combines killer dance and jaw-dropping circus in an original and terrifying way. Tickets range from $45-$75.
Feinstein’s/54 Below
The Broadway supper club has theatre fans covered over the Halloween weekend. On October 30, Jay Armstrong Johnson‘s hit concert returns with a Halloween twist—expect Hocus Pocus to make an appearance, a stage full of artists in Halloween costumes, and a prize for the audience member with the best “Studio 54 celebrity” costume. On October 31, Into Sweeney Todd’s Woods, an evening celebrating two of Stephen Sondheim’s most popular musicals, returns for the fourth year in a row. The concert is hosted by Phil Geoffrey Bond from Sondheim Unplugged and features special guest Sarah Rice, who originated the role of Johanna in the Broadway staging of Sweeney Todd. Go down the rabbit hole and into the inner, psychological landscapes of writer Lewis Carroll with the award-winning Then She Fell. The immersive and critically acclaimed show, inspired by Alice in Wonderland, takes place inside a three-floor, century-old institutional facility in Brooklyn. Daybreaker Morning Masquerade
Jump aboard the Hornblower Infinity boat on the morning of October 28 and hit the dance floor before work. Hulaween
The Waldorf Astoria’s ballroom is transformed yet again for Bette Midler’s annual Hulaween party, which benefits the New York Restoration Project. The Hocus Pocus star announced earlier that she is dressing up as Winnie for this year’s fundraiser, which is hosted by Kathy Griffin, with a performance by Darlene Love.
