The Public Theatre’s production of Coriolanus at Shakespeare in the Park began performances July 16. The production, starring Jonathan Cake (Camping, Desperate Housewives) is scheduled to run through August 11 at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park.
Directed by Daniel Sullivan, Coriolanus tells the story of a general who is voted into power by a populace hungry for change, and the unraveling that follows. he war-torn tragedy also features Kate Burton as Volumnia, Teagle F. Bougere as Menenius Agrippa, Tom Nelis as Cominius, and Louis Cancelmi as Tullus Aufidius.
