Tony winner Alex Newell is the latest special guest announced to be joining Tony nominee Shoshana Bean at her upcoming holiday concert at the Apollo Theater. Set for December 4, the holiday concert will also feature Betty Who and Kristin Chenoweth as previously announced.
Newell won a Tony for their performance in Shucked, in which they continue to appear. Newell previously starred as Unique Adams on Glee and as Mo on Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist. On Broadway, Newell previously starred as Asaka in the Broadway revival of Once On This Island at the Circle in the Square Theatre.
Bean's annual Apollo holiday shows have become a tradition, with different theatrical guests joining her each year. Previous guests have included Cynthia Erivo, Ledisi, Leslie Odom, Jr., Jeremy Jordan, Gavin Creel and more. Additional guests for this coming December will be announced over the coming weeks.
Bean is currently starring in the new Alicia Keys musical Hell’s Kitchen at the Public Theater. Tickets for the Apollo concert are available at Ticketmaster.com.
