The Broadway Sinfonietta and founder Macy Schmidt have signed with Sony Masterworks Broadway, a partnership that will see music releases featuring the all female–identifying and majority BIPOC orchestra. The first release, "You're Gonna Hear From Me," with vocals by Solea Pfeiffer (EvitaHamilton), was released digitally alongside news of the partnership July 22. Listen to it here.

"Nearly two years after launching, I’m so excited for the Sinfonietta to be taking its next big steps with such amazing partners as Sony Masterworks and Carnegie Hall to begin releasing our recording work and finally performing live with the full orchestra,” says Egyptian-American music director and orchestrator Schmidt in a statement. “...[A]fter such an amazing two years working as a house orchestra, it feels incredible to, for the first time, present an original program of arrangements to tell our own story and amplify women’s voices.”

Pfeiffer joins the Sinfonietta to perform "You're Gonna Hear From Me" live at the group's free outdoor concert July 22 at 7 PM, part of the Bryant Park Picnic Performances series, itself part of Carnegie Hall Citywide. Also slated for the concert is Grammy Award-winning Bridgerton musical writer Abigail Barlow premiering a new song, along with performances from Arielle Jacobs, Sandra Okuboyejo, Krystina Alabado, Elyse Bell, and Kim Blanck. Taking the podium to lead the ensemble will be five female conductors, including Schmidt, Meg Zervoulis (The PromMean Girls), Cynthia Meng (CompanyHadestown), Colleen McCormack (The Hunchback of Notre Dame), and Zarifa Adiba.

"You're Gonna Hear From Me" was written by André and Dory Previn for the 1965 film Inside Daisy Clover. The single includes arrangements by Schmidt and features performances by Sinfonietta members Schmidt, Lady Jess, Tomoko Akaboshi, Maria Im, Marika Hughes, Elena Bonomo, Elizabeth Steiner, Hitomi Yakata-Garcia, Jackie Coleman, Yuri Yamashita, Julia Adamy, Adrienne Baker, Coreisa Janelle Lee, Patricia Billings, Nicole DeMaio, Lessie Vonner, Sara Jacovino, and Kyra Sims.

Founded in 2020, The Broadway Sinfonietta has become one of the theatre community's preeminent recording and gala house orchestras, performing for such artists as Jordin Sparks, Brandy, Lady A's Hillary Scott, and Laura Bell Bundy, along with serving as accompaniment for TikTok musicals Ratatouille and For You, Paige.
