The Great Performances series continues May 17 with Audra McDonald at the London Palladium.
The concert with the six-time Tony winner is part of the "Broadway's Best" series and airs at 9 PM ET on PBS stations around the country; check local listings.
The Broadway favorite performs a repertoire of classic
theatre songs, including “I Am What I Am,” “Summertime,” “Climb Ev’ry
Mountain,” and more. Musical director Andy Einhorn leads the 40-piece London Musical Theatre Orchestra.

In addition to her Tony-winning performances in Carousel, Master Class, Ragtime, A Raisin in the Sun, The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess, and Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill—she was also Olivier-nominated for her portrayal of Billie Holiday—McDonald has appeared on Broadway in The Secret Garden,Marie Christine,Henry IV,110 in the Shade,Shuffle Along...,Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, and Ohio State Murders.
The "Broadway's Best" series will continue on PBS with Purlie Victorious, starring Leslie Odom, Jr., May 24 at 9 PM ET; and Rodgers & Hammerstein’s 80th AnniversaryMay 31 at 9 PM ET.
Filmed in 2023, the one-night-only event featured Brian Stokes Mitchell, Audra McDonald, Peter Friedman, and more from the Ahrens and Flaherty musical's original cast.
Surrounded by period-accurate, 19th-century holiday decorations lit via candlelight, the 70-minute production is based on Dickens' own script of the classic.
