News British Comedian John Oliver Extends Run at The Chicago Theatre John Oliver, the British comic known best for his comedic political commentary on "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver" on HBO and previously on "The Daily Show" with Jon Stewart, has added performances to his show at the Chicago Theatre.

Oliver, who was set to perform Dec. 30 at 7 PM, will now also perform Dec. 30 at 10 PM and Dec. 31 at 7 PM and 10 PM. 

Oliver is an Emmy- and Writer's Guild Award-winning writer. He first became known for his politically laced standup routine in the U.K.

He also performed onstage in New York with members of the Stuttering Association for the Young (SAY) at their Fifth Annual Benefit Gala. SAY is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing an artistic home for young people who stutter.

Oliver is living in the United States as a permanent resident on a "green card."
