Industry News Broadway Stars Celebrate Michael Arden, Kendall Crolius, Baayork Lee at Prospect's Muse Awards September 30

The newly renamed Prospect Musicals honors three members of the theatre community during the company's 25th Anniversary Gala September 30 at The Edison Ballroom.

Drama Desk Award winner Jay Armstrong Johnson (Parade, The Phantom of the Opera) and Jaygee Macapugay (Suffs, Here Lies Love) co-host the event, celebrating the company’s 25 years of pioneering, developing, and producing new musical theatre works.

Receiving Muse Awards are Tony-winning director and actor Michael Arden (Parade, Maybe Happy Ending), arts advocate and author Kendall Crolius, and Tony recipient Baayork Lee (A Chorus Line).

Presenters are scheduled to include Tony winner Nikki M. James (Suffs, The Book of Mormon), Princeton Triangle Club alumna Michelle McGorty, and Tony winner Priscilla Lopez (A Chorus Line). Those set to perform include Tony nominee Stephen Bogardus (Falsettos), Bandits on the Run (Adrian Blake Enscoe, Sydney Torin Shepherd, Regina Strayhorn), Ali Ewoldt (The Phantom of the Opera), Diane Phelan (Into the Woods), Jelani Remy (Back to the Future), Helen J Shen (Maybe Happy Ending), LaDonna Burns, Kimberley Chatterjee, Steven Eng, Tymothee Harrell, Devin Ilaw, Charlotte Kunesh, Gaea Lawton, Asher Muldoon, and Jasmine Sharma.

Attendees can expect cocktails, dinner, and entertainment.

“Prospect is thrilled to honor the 2024 Muse Awardees, whose work has inspired us through our 25 years of creativity,” said Producing Artistic Director Cara Reichel in an earlier statement. “We can’t wait to sing their praises as we look ahead to the company’s next chapter of serving our community.”
