Hari Dhillon, who was seen on Broadway and in London in Disgraced, will star as Tom, who is splitting up from his partner Beth (to be played by Finty Williams), with Shaun Dooley and Sara Stewart as Gabe and Karen, a steady pair and their long-term friends. In a press statement, Margulies commented, "I'm delighted that such a young, exciting assembly of theatre artists will be bringing Dinner with Friends to a new generation of London theatregoers."
The production is being directed by Tom Attenborough, with designs by David Woodhead, lighting design by Joshua Carr, sound design by Isobel Waller-Bridge and casting by Vicky Richardson. It is produced by Oliver Mackwood with Debbie Hicks and Tim Johanson.
