It has twelve "toe-tapping tunes." The hero is Preacher Bob Maggot. The script mixes "Plautus, Terence, Sam Shepard, Fundamentalist Tent Revivals, Woody Guthrie, Bruce Springsteen, WWF, Penthouse letters, Nietzsche, `Helter Skelter' and an `After School Special.'" Of course, it's an offering at the New York International Fringe Festival, where the dully-plotted show is not welcome. The above attraction, formally called Trav S.D.'s House of Trash, will run Aug. 16-26 at Surf Reality. Featured in the play's glue-sniffing, tobacco-chewing, Nazi leaning, gorilla-keeping family are Robert Pinnock, Reverend Jen Miller, Hank Flynn, Loren Kidd, Gilda Konrad, Jon Weichsel and Trav S.D. Himself.
The Fringe Fest runs Aug. 16-27. Tickets are $12. For information on House of Trash, call the Fringe, call (212) 420-8877, or consult the website at www.fringenyc.org.
