Full casting has been revealed for Roundabout Theatre Company's upcoming Broadway revival of Doubt, which will be the first time that the John Patrick Shanley play will be on the Main Stem. As previously announced, Tony winners Tyne Daly and Liev Schreiber will lead the revival at the American Airlines Theatre.
Joining them will be Obie and Lortel Award winner Quincy Tyler Bernstine as Mrs. Muller and Zoe Kazan as Sister James.
Also newly announced are the production's dates. Previews will begin February 2, 2024 ahead of an official opening night February 29. The limited engagement will continue through April 14.
Doubt: A Parable opened at the Walter Kerr Theatre March 31, 2005, and ran for over a year. It was nominated for eight Tony Awards, winning four, including Best Play; Best Actress for Cherry Jones; Best Featured Actress for Adriane Lenox, who played the mother of the student; and Best Direction for Doug Hughes. Shanley was also awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The work received a film adaptation in 2008 starring Meryl Streep, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amy Adams, and Viola Davis—they all received Academy Award nominations for their performances.
Daly was last seen on Broadway in 2015's It Shoulda Been You. She is a Tony winner for her turn as Mama Rose in the 1990 revival of Gypsy. Schreiber is a Tony winner for the 2005 revival of Glengarry Glen Ross. His other Broadway credits include Talk Radio, A View From the Bridge, and Les Liaisons Dangereuses.
Roundabout's season also includes The Refuge Plays by Nathan Alan Davis, directed by Patricia McGregor and currently running Off-Broadway; Covenant by York Walker, directed by Tiffany Nichole Greene and currently running Off-Broadway via Roundabout Underground; I Need That by Theresa Rebeck, directed by Moritz von Stuelpnagel and starring Danny DeVito and his daughter Lucy, now in previews on Broadway; and the upcoming Home by Samm-Art Williams, directed by Kenny Leon, and Jonah by Rachel Bonds, directed by Danya Taymor.
