Tony-winning writer and actor Harvey Fierstein will be joined by theatre critic Michael Feingold to discuss his recently released memoir I Was Better Last Night at the Union Square Barnes and Noble in NYC August 11. The event, set for 7 PM, will also feature copies of the book pre-signed by Fierstein for purchase.
Though the event is free, those interested in attending are requested to register in advance at BarnesandNoble.com.
Fierstein’s new memoir reveals never-before-told stories of his personal struggles and conflict, of sex and romance, and of his career, which has transported him from community theatre in Brooklyn to the lights of Broadway, to the excesses of Hollywood, and back.
Fierstein won two 1983 Tony Awards—Best Actor in a Play and Best Play—for his groundbreaking opus Torch Song Trilogy. He also won a Best Book of a Musical Tony in 1984 for Jerry Herman’s La Cage aux Folles, and a Best Actor in a Musical Tony for Hairspray. He is currently represented on Broadway with the revised book for to Funny Girl, and Off-Broadway with Kinky Boots.
