Broadway-aimed Dolly Parton biomusical Dolly: An Original Musical has revealed finalists in its Search for Dolly casting call, a national online open call to find actors to play Parton. The 15 finalists will be invited to attend in-person auditions in New York City, with final casting still to be announced.
The work will get a pre-Broadway world premiere in Nashville, Tennessee, beginning July 18 at Fisher Center for the Performing Arts, with an official opening night set for August 8. The premiere run will continue through August 17 with Tony winner Bartlett Sher at the helm.
The finalists are Kathryn Adeline of New York City; Peri Barnhill of New York City; Elyse Bell of New York City; Alberta Brown of Halifax, Canada; Haley Brown of Los Angeles; Kylee Hennes of Richfield, Wisconsin; Annelise Laakko of New York City; Tasha Lefler of Newport, Tennessee; Solo Lowit of Milton, Georgia; Kindred Moore of New York City; Norah Nunes of Houston, Texas; Kelly O’Brien of Aldbury, Tring, United Kingdom; Tricia Paoluccio of California; Cecilia Petrush of New York City; and Madeline Powell of New York City.

Parton shared at a recent press event that she's written "a whole lot" of new, original songs for the show, but audiences can also expect to hear some of the 11-time Grammy winner's greatest hits. Maria S. Schlatter is collaborating with Parton on the musical's book.
