Off-Broadway News Henry IV, Richard II Begin Performances at Theatre For A New Audience January 26

The Off-Broadway company will stage the Shakespeare plays in repertory through February 5.

Theatre for a New Audience's repertory productions of William Shakespeare's Henry IV Part 1 and 2, and Richard II, begin performances today, January 26. The plays will be presented in tandem through February 5.

Dakin Matthews’ adaptation of Henry IV, Part 1 and Henry IV, Part 2 is presented in-the-round, directed by Eric Tucker, and stars Susannah Perkins as Prince Hal; Tom Pecinka as Henry Percy; Cara Ricketts as Lady Percy; Thomas Jay Ryan as King Henry IV; and Jay O. Sanders as Sir John Falstaff

Christian Camargo stars in Richard II, as directed by Tucker. Camargo is joined by Thomas Jay Ryan as Henry Bolingbroke. 

Both productions pull from the repertory company, which includes Heidi Armbruster, Jordan Bellow, Christian Camargo, Byron Jennings, Brenda Meaney, Ajay Naidu, Tom Pecinka, Susannah Perkins, Julia Randall, Cara Ricketts, Michael Rogers, Thomas Jay Ryan, Jamie Sanders, Jay O. Sanders, and Krystal Sobaskie.

The creative teams consist of Jimmy Stubbs, Scenic Designer; Nicole Lang, Lighting Designer; Andrew Wade, Voice Director; Diane Healy, Production Stage Manager; and Jonathan Kalb, Dramaturg.

All TFANA productions feature free post-performance discussions after select shows, and this season inaugurates Reflections, post-shows discussions with artists and activists hosted by essayist and commentator Bianca Vivion Brooks.
