Indigenous musical Distant Thunder will release a single on streaming platforms February 12. The song "Strong Enough" will be one of three songs to be shared from the show in the coming weeks.

Distant Thunder, written by Lynne Taylor-Corbett and Shaun Taylor-Corbett, features music and lyrics by Chris Wiseman and Shaun Taylor-Corbett. Set on the Blackfeet reservation, it follows attorney Darrell Waters, a half-Indigenous-half-white outsider raised in Chicago, who unknowingly creates a crisis when he returns to his tribe seeking reconciliation with his father. With a deepening connection to his community, he joins the fight to keep the tribe’s language alive.

The song "Strong Enough" chronicles three kids running away from their reservation, only to realize their strength and identity lie within their community and close to their language.

"Strong Enough" will feature performances by Spencer Battiest, Shayna Jackson, Chelsea Zeno, Román Zaragoza, and Shaun Taylor-Corbett. Musicians included on the track are Matt Beck, Doug Henrichs, Richard Hammond, Rich Mercurio, Michael Moricz, and Michael Morris. The production team is comprised of engineer M.P. Kuo, track producer Micheal Morris, and track engineer John Kilgore, with arrangements by Michael Moricz.

Distant Thunder has been developed by Native Voices at the Autry, The Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Amas Musical Theatre. The show is supported by the Association on American Indian Affairs and the First Americans Museum in Oklahoma, the end of the Trail of Tears, where it had its first production.
