Inside the Opening Night of The Children on Broadway
In Kirkwood’s new play, three retired nuclear engineers reunite in a remote cottage on the British coast. Outside, the world is reeling from a disaster, raising questions about who is responsible and what the solution looks like.
London cast members Francesca Annis (BBC’s Cranford), Olivier Award nominee Ron Cook (Juno and the Paycock), and Olivier Award winner Deborah Findlay (Stanley) are reprising their roles on Broadway. James Macdonald directs.
The play comes on the heels of a broader cultural conversation about Dahl's work and the prejudice that was embedded in many of his most beloved stories.
