OPENING

Jan. 10: Kicking off its 12th "season of scandal," Red Bull Theater Company presents a revival of The Changeling, Thomas Middleton and William Rowley’s classic play. The Off-Broadway production is at the Lucille Lortel Theatre in downtown Manhattan.

LAST CHANCE Dec. 31: This year Queen of the Night celebrates the New Year with a classy Bond-inspired black-tie extravaganza. The evening features the usual live performances along with a midnight champagne toast and international DJs playing long into the night. 

Jan. 3: Say farewell to your favorite foul-mouthed puppet Tyrone when Broadway's Hand to God takes its final bow. The current cast of the Tony-winning play by Robert Askins features "Full House" star Bob Saget in the role of Pastor Greg. Who's dirtier – Saget or Tyrone? Jan. 3: The Broadway debut of the tap-happy musical comedy Dames at Sea concludes its run on the Great White Way. The show famously helped launch the career of Tony winner Bernadette Peters when it played Off-Broadway; the revival stars Lesli Margherita, John Bolton and Eloise Kropp, among others.

Jan. 3: Keira Knightley, who made her Broadway debut this season in Thérèse Raquin, takes her final bow in the acclaimed Roundabout Theatre Company revival. In the tense period drama, Knightley plays a restless woman stuck in a loveless marriage, cornered by her selfish husband (Tony Award winner Gabriel Ebert) and her controlling mother-in-law (two-time Tony Award winner Judith Light).

Jan. 3: The return engagement of The Illusionists performs its final magic trick on Broadway. The fast-paced show features seven of the world's greatest magicians performing death-defying stunts and breathtaking displays.

Jan. 3: Tony winner Annaleigh Ashford barks for a final time as the curtains close on the adorable revival of A.R. Gurney's Sylvia – a must-see for all dog lovers.  

Jan. 3: Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games concludes its limited New York engagement on Broadway. The show features Irish dance mixed with holographs, special effects lighting, dancing robots and world-champion acrobats.

Jan. 3: American Dance Machine for The 21st Century (ADM21) makes its final leap at the Joyce Theater. The dance showcase, helmed by Wicked's Wayne Cilento, features 22 dancers and eight musicians.

Jan. 3: Pulitzer Prize finalist Stephen Karam's new comedy-drama The Humans finishes up Off-Broadway before its Broadway transfer next year. The Joe Mantello-helmed play, which takes place during a family Thanksgiving dinner in Chinatown, Manhattan, sees tensions mount and secrets unveiled.

Jan. 3: Broadway vet John Cullum takes a final bow in Dylan Thomas' classic holiday tale, A Child's Christmas in Wales, presented by Irish Repertory Theatre, which officially opened Off-Broadway Dec. 6. 

Jan. 3: As the holiday season comes to an end, the annual Radio City Christmas Spectacular plays its final performances featuring the dazzling Rockettes. 

Jan. 10: Don't miss the chance to see veterans James Earl Jones and Cicely Tyson back on the Broadway stage. The pair play two residents at a retirement home in the acclaimed revival of D.L. Coburn's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, The Gin Game, at the Golden Theatre, directed by Leonard Foglia.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Dec. 31: Feinstein's/54 Below rings in the New Year with two stellar shows. In the earlier slot, three-time Tony nominee Marin Mazzie takes to the stage, followed by Annaleigh Ashford's midnight concert. If her acclaimed Lost in the Stars show is anything to go by, it's sure to be a fun evening of performances, laughter and magic. See Ashford's New Year's resolutions here!

Dec. 31: Two-time Tony winner Nathan Lane joins New York Philharmonic’s annual New Year’s Eve celebration, La Vie Parisienne, at David Geffen Hall in Lincoln Center. The celebrated actor is narrating Saint-Saens’ Carnival of the Animals, a piece commissioned by the Philharmonic in which each animal is a New York archetype.

Jan. 1: PBS continues its special New Year's Eve broadcasts with the best entertainment from around the world, including "From Vienna: The New Year's Celebration 2016," with returning host Julie Andrews.
