The Old Globe’s Summer Shakespeare Festival production of Love’s Labor’s Lost, helmed by three-time Tony winner Kathleen Marshall, officially opens August 20 in San Diego. Leading the cast is 2016 Tony nominee Pascale Armand (Eclipsed), Jonny Orsini (Fish in the Dark), Kristen Connolly (House of Cards) and Kieran Campion (The Heiress).

The romantic comedy kicked off performances August 14 in the outdoor Lowell Davies Festival Theatre.

The principal cast of Love’s Labor’s Lost also features Kevin Cahoon (The Wedding Singer, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang), Greg Hildreth (The Robber Bridegroom), Patrick Kerr (You Can’t Take It with You), Triney Sandoval (Macbeth) and two-time Tony winner Stephen Spinella (Angels in America, The Velocity of Autumn, Spring Awakening).

Joining them are actors from The Old Globe and University of San Diego Shiley Graduate Theatre Program, including James Amara Aja, Amy Blackman, Ally Carey, Ajinkya Desai, Talley Beth Gale, Kevin Hafso-Koppman, Lorenzo Landini, Makha Mthembu, Jake Millgard, Christina A. Okolo, Suzelle Palacios, Daniel Petzold and Nathan Whitmer.

In Love’s Labor’s Lost, the King of Navarre and his three schoolmates vow to concentrate on their studies and stay clear of girls. But the instant they take that vow, the Princess of France arrives with her three beautiful attendants, and all bets are off.

The creative team is made up of John Lee Beatty (scenic design), Michael Krass (costume design), Jason Lyons (lighting design), Sten Severson (sound design), Peter Golub (original music), Taylor Peckham (music director), Ursula Meyer (voice and text coach), Jim Carnahan, CSA (casting) and Pamela Salling (production stage manager).
