The Sheen Center will launch Backstage Broadway, a new talkback series hosted by Tony Award nominee Alexander Gemignani (Carousel, Sweeney Todd), this spring. The series will explore the creative process that goes into bringing a Broadway production to life.

The series kicks off April 1 at 7 PM with cast and creative team members from Roundabout Theatre Company's new Broadway revival of the Cole Porter classic Kiss Me, Kate. Gemignani will be joined by the show’s Tony Award-winning choreographer Warren Carlyle, as well as Tony-winning musical director Paul Gemignani and dance arranger David Chase, both of whom also worked on the Tony-winning 1999 Broadway revival of the musical.

The discussion will be highlighted by performances from Kiss Me, Kate company members Preston Truman Boyd, Marissa McGowan, and Christine Cornish Smith, who understudy the leading roles of Fred Graham, Lilli Vanessi, and Lois Lane in the production.

Backstage Broadway will continue April 15 with Be More Chill composer-lyricist Joe Iconis and cast members from the new musical, which recently opened at the Lyceum Theatre.

Tickets for Backstage Broadway range $20–$30, with $15 student rush also available. Visit SheenCenter.org to purchase.
