A host of additional Broadway favorites will join the October 28 benefit performance of Carmel Dean’s song cycle Well-Behaved Women.
Held at 7:30 PM at The Town Hall, the show spotlights stories of historic and inspirational women throughout time. Directed by Schele Williams (The Wiz, The Notebook), proceeds will benefit the Harris Victory Fund and Democratic women in other down-ballot races.
Joining the lineup are Krystina Alabado, Klea Blackhurst, Lilli Cooper, Natalie Joy Johnson, and Barbara Walsh.
They join the previously announced company of Kate Baldwin, Andréa Burns, LaChanze, Victoria Clark, Hannah Corneau, Alma Cuervo, Eden Espinosa, Melissa Rose Hirsch, Ingrid Michaelson, Lauren Patten, Solea Pfeiffer, Jessica Phillips, Salena Qureshi, Elizabeth Stanley, Pearl Sun, Mary Testa, Katie Thompson, Jessica Vosk, and Betsy Wolfe, who will celebrate the accomplishments and tales of Cleopatra, Harriet Tubman, Frida Kahlo, Billie Jean King, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and Malala Yousafzai.
Well-Behaved Women was originally performed at Joe’s Pub in January 2020, with a subsequent production in Sydney, Australia. A studio cast recording is available through Concord Theatricals Recordings. Orchestrations are by Lynne Shankel, and additional lyrics are by Miriam Laube.
The band of Well-Behaved Women will include Carmel Dean, Elena Bonomo, Francesca Castro, Mary Ann McSweeney, and Hiroko Taguchi.
