Joey Contreras's In Pieces will have an invite-only industry reading October 6 at the Baryshnikov Arts Center. The new musical gained global popularity after releasing a highlights album in 2021 through Broadway Records, and has since become a popular licensed property with productions in Singapore, Australia, London, and throughout the U.S.
The anthology musical follows the love lives of six people in New York City across three chapters of life as they fall in love, break up, and love again. Rebecca Aparicio will direct the reading.
The reading will feature Anson Bagley, Antonio Cipriano (Jagged Little Pill), Julian Diaz-Granados (Dear Evan Hansen), Mia Gerachis (Pretty Woman), Miguel Gil (Kimberly Akimbo), Makai Hernandez (A Beautiful Noise), Liisi LaFontaine (Moulin Rouge!), Lily Soto, Stephanie Torns (Waitress), and Hannah Verdi.
Brian Russell Carey will provide music supervision, and Jenn Jacobs will serve as production stage manager. Casting is by The Casting Collaborative's Jason Styres and Andrea Zee. Andrew Patino of Ursa Creatives is producing.
