After celebrating its official opening night on April 17, the new musical Groundhog Day will release a cast recording April 21. Before it becomes available digitally, have a listen to the complete album on NPR Music. A few highlights are below.
INSIDE THE RECORDING STUDIO WITH THE CAST OF GROUNDHOG DAY
The musical, which premiered in 2016 at London’s Old Vic, features a score by Tim Minchin (Matilda) and a book by Danny Rubin. The Broadway cast stars two-time Tony nominee and Olivier winner Andy Karl and Barrett Doss.
Rounding out the cast at the August Wilson Theatre are Rebecca Faulkenberry, John Sanders, Andrew Call, Raymond J. Lee, Heather Ayers, Kevin Bernard, Gerard Canonico, Rheaume Crenshaw, Michael Fatica, Katy Geraghty, Camden Gonzales, Jordan Grubb, Taylor Iman Jones, Tari Kelly, Josh Lamon, Joseph Medeiros, Sean Montgomery, William Parry, Jenna Rubaii, Vishal Vaidya, Travis Waldschmidt, and Natalie Wisdom.
