Manhattan Theatre Club has unveiled the slate of new works that will get developmental readings via its annual Ted Snowdon Reading Series in 2024. All readings will be held at New York City Center – Stage I.

First up will by Wilma, by Abby Rosebrock and directed by Colette Robert. The work centers on a mother and her 12-year-old daughter, stuck together on a fateful morning. The play is the first of Rosebrock's Good Girl Trilogy. The reading will be held March 4.

Aurora Real de Asua's Wipeout will follow March 11, with Morgan Green directing. Set on surfboards, the play focuses on three retired best friends and a hotrod surf instructor.

March 18 will welcome Dipika Guha's Asilomar, directed by Jess McLeod. The science-themed play digs into the topic of genetic engineering. Dr. Annie Roy focuses her career on the practice, but faces competition as she speeds to a major discovery that could have nuclear implications.

The 2024 series will close March 25 with a.k. payne's Furlough's Paradise, directed by Ibi Owolabi. In the new play, Sade is on a three-day furlough from prison and staying with her only cousin Mina as they return to Mina's hometown for her aunt's funeral.

All four readings will be held at 4 PM.

The series has previously resulted in works that went on to full productions at MTC, including David Auburn's Tony- and Pulitzer-winning Proof, Joe Hortua's Between Us, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa's Based on a Totally True Story, Molly Smith Metzler's Close Up Space, Abe Koogler's Fulfillment Center, Jaclyn Backhaus' India Pale Ale, and Eleanor Burgess' The Niceties.
