The movie is set to start filming in June in New York City, reported the trade magazine, with a script from the TV show's co-creators Amy Sedaris, Paul Dinello and Stephen Colbert. Mark Roberts and Lorena David produce. The project would reunite Wonder of the World co-stars Sedaris and Parker — who recently reteamed on the set of "Sex and the City." It also marks the first time the stage couple Broderick and Parker have starred together since their Broadway stint in the revival of How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying.
"Strangers With Candy" ran on Comedy Central for three seasons and starred Sedaris with co-creators Dinello and Colbert. The satire of afterschool specials cast Sedaris as a 46-year-old ex-addict who returned to high school after 30 years and now deals with trying to be hip with kids 1/3 her age.
The comedy trio also recently toured with their "page-to-stage" production Wigfield — based on their book of the same title. Colbert also serves as a "Daily Show with Jon Stewart" correspondent.
