News On the Town Star Will Record Solo Album Tony Yazbeck, the leading man who dances and croons his way through the Broadway revival of On the Town, will record "The Floor Above Me," a new solo album based on his new nightclub act.

PS Classics will record the studio album that will arrive in stores May 19. The recording is based on Yazbeck's solo show The Floor Above Me, which premiered at 54 Below last August and will play a March 16 and 23 encore run there.

The expanded album will include songs by Irving Berlin ("Let Yourself Go," "Cheek to Cheek") and the Gershwins ("Fascinating Rhythm," "Slap That Bass"), as well as pop covers of songs by Coldplay, Jamie Cullum and Martin Sexton.

Guest stars announced for the album include Yazbeck's On the Town co-star Clyde Alves and Melinda Sullivan ("So You Think You Can Dance," "Glee").

PS Classics co-founder Tommy Krasker will produce the album.

"The Floor Above Me" is co-written by Yazbeck and Howard Emanuel and features music direction and arrangements by pianist Jerome Korman, joined by Tony Lewis on drums, Tom Hubbard on bass, Marc McGowan on trumpet and Jack Bashkow on woodwinds.

Yazbeck has also been seen in Chicago, Gypsy, A Chorus Line, Oklahoma! and Never Gonna Dance.
