Casey Cott, who plays the theatre-obsessed Kevin Keller on the long-running TV series Riverdale, made his Broadway debut August 1 in the Tony-winning Moulin Rouge! The Musical.

Cott, also seen in the title role of the 2019 Kennedy Center staging of The Who's Tommy, stepped into the role of Christian, the part created by Tony winner Aaron Tveit, for a limited engagement through December 3. August 1 also marked the arrival of Courtney Reed as the new Satine. Reed, also seen in Aladdin, joins the musical's Broadway company after originating the role in the first national tour, which launched last year.

The pair succeeded Derek Klena and Joanna “JoJo” Levesque, who played their final performances July 30 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre.

The score features covers of "Fireworks" by Katy Perry, "Your Song" by Elton John, and "Chandelier" by Sia, among many other modern pop songs.
