Photos: Take a Look at the 2023 Jimmy Awards Ceremony

The 14th Annual Jimmy Award nominees brought the house down at the Minskoff Theatre June 26. The awards celebrated 96 nominees this year, made up of two winners each from 48 high school musical theatre awards competitions across the U.S. At the end of the night, Lauren A. Marchand of New York, New York, and Langston Lee of Austin, Texas, were awarded for Best Performance by an Actress and Best Performance by an Actor, and each received a $25,000 scholarship. The 2023 finalists, who each performed a solo and received a $3,000 scholarship, include Samia Posadas of Tucson, Arizona, Omar Andre Real of Palm Springs, California, Corbin Drew Ross of Dallas, Texas, Maya Sharma of West Palm Beach, Florida, Christian Strong of Columbus, Ohio, and Anna Wright of St. Louis, Missouri.

Semifinalists were Croix Baker, Steven Dao, Jackson Manning, Carly Mikula, Mia Nelson, Annie Sardouk, Ayden Weinstein, and Makenzie Woolridge, all of whom received a $2,000 scholarship. Awards and scholarships were also presented to Sophi Keller (for Best Dancer), Gage Williams (Rising Star award), Samantha A. Nelson (for Best Performance in an Ensemble), and Omar Andre Real (Spirit of the Jimmys award).

Monday’s ceremony was presented by The Broadway League Foundation, and hosted by Corbin Bleu. Jimmy alumni Eva Noblezada (Hadestown), McKenzie Kurtz (Wicked), and Andrew Barth Feldman (Dear Evan Hansen), along with Elijah Rhea Johnson and Antoine L. Smith of MJ The Musical, all appeared as presenters. Broadway guest coaches included Jenni Barber, Max Chernin, Maryann Hu, Adam Kantor, Telly Leung, Howard McGillin, and Desi Oakley. The awards streamed live on Youtube and Facebook, and videos of the finalists and group performances are available online.
