Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS) will produce a staging of The Rocky Horror Show, which inspired the 1974 film of the same name, this November 8-20. With book, music and lyrics by Richard O’Brien, The Rocky Horror Show is a rock musical and an interactive experience. (A live musical version will play on FOX, starring Laverne Cox.)
Mitchell Greco, artistic associate at Stages Repertory Theatre in Houston, will make his TUTS directorial debut with the production. The show features choreography by Kristin Warren, scenic design by Ryan McGettigan and costume design by Colleen Grady.
According to press notes, TUTS artistic director Sheldon Epps says, “I am so pleased to be working with an amazingly talented Houston-based creative team for this show, and to be collaborating with artists from other much respected local arts organizations. For everyone here at TUTS, it is crucial to stay connected to the vast network of talent the city has to offer. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to do exactly that with this production.”
Casting has yet to be announced.
Tickets for the production go on sale August 5. For tickets and information visit TUTS.org.
