Broadway favorites Sasha Hutchings (Hamilton, Oklahoma!) and Nik Walker (Ain't Too Proud, Hamilton) will host the Arthur Miller Foundation Honors November 14 in New York City.
The annual event celebrates the power of theatre education in public schools, honoring figures who have made significant contributions to arts and culture. This year's ceremony will feature songs written by the late Stephen Sondheim, with Broadway favorites joining the stage alongside NYC public school students.
Set to receive honors are Pulitzer Prize-winning playwrights Paula Vogel and Lynn Nottage along with their former student and Tony Award nominee Christina Anderson, all receiving the Arthur Miller Foundation Award. The honor celebrates extraordinary women who have carved out a legacy in the American theatre.
Arthur Miller Foundation Executive Director Jaime Hastings will produce the event, with Artistic Director Paul Canaan (Kinky Boots, Legally Blonde) and music director Julie McBride (Moulin Rouge!).
Founded by Rebecca Miller, the Arthur Miller Foundation honors the Death of a Salesman and All My Sons playwright's legacy and NYC public school education, working to increase equity and access to quality theatre education for public school students by supporting educators with certification programs, mentorship, and other resources.
