“It’s an incredible feeling to be returning to Chicago with Porchlight,” said Krill in an earlier statement. “I am looking forward to being back, where I began my career, performing Sondheim’s incredible work at the beautiful Studebaker Theater.”

"I often say Chicago is my second home, and it's so wonderful to be back home with Porchlight for this performance," added Voytko. "Sondheim's Sunday with its unforgettable, beautiful, and haunting music is one of my favorites to perform. I can't wait to share it with Chicago this spring."

Inspired by Georges Seurat's painting “A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte,” Sunday in the Park With George opened on Broadway, starring Mandy Patinkin and Bernadette Peters, in 1984, subsequently receiving Tony Awards for Best Scenic Design and Best Lighting Design. The Pulitzer Prize for Drama followed in 1985.
