The film is being directed by Scott Derrickson, with a script by Jon Spaihts.

The Oct. 15 live international screening of Hamlet, starring Oscar nominee Cumberbatch in the title role, was seen by more than 225,000 people around the world, making it the largest global audience for any title in the history of the "National Theatre Live" broadcasts.
