Anne Washburn's Mr. Burns, a Post-Electric Play, featuring music by the late Michael Friedman, began performances July 8 at Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival and will open July 23, with performances set to continue through September 17. The production is directed by HVSF Artistic Director Davis McCallum. Get a look at the production below.
The cast includes Kimberly Chatterjee, Kayla Coleman, Erin Despanie, Zachary Fine, Zoë Goslin, Merritt Janson, Lauren Karaman, Sean McNall, Emily Ota, Will Ormsby Cary, Luis Quintero, Britney Nicole Simpson, Destini Stewart, and Roman Alec Trevino.
Originally commissioned and produced by theatre company The Civilians, the dark comedy is set in the future as civilization rebuilds itself and today's pop culture reemerges as mythology.
Mr. Burns feature scenic design by Peiyi Wong, costume design by Kathleen Doyle, lighting design by Stacey Derosier, sound design by Darron West, and props by Samantha Shoffner, choreography/fight choreographer by Orlando Pabotoy, and music direction by Saul Nache.
Mr. Garcia was active across numerous international markets, founding one of Asia’s most prolific theatre companies while establishing an extensive working relationship with Lea Salonga.
