As rehearsals begin for the 16-week limited engagement, director Gold said in a statement, “I couldn’t be more thrilled to be starting today with this brilliant ensemble. In the play, there are two households, but for us in the room, it really feels like one family.
Press notes for the revival describe the classic tragedy as such:
"The youth are fucked. Left to their own devices in their parents’ world
of violent ends, an impulsive pair of star-crossed lovers hurtle
towards their inescapable fate. The intoxicating high of passion quickly
descends into a brutal chaos that can only end one way."
Romeo + Juliet will be produced on Broadway by Seaview.
