The Adirondack Theatre Festival will present concert presentations of the new rock musical-in-development Pump Up the Volume July 14-16 in the Charles R. Wood Theater.
Directed by Dave Solomon (Tootsie national tour), the cast will feature Liam Pearce as Mark/Hard Harry, Christina Jones as Nora, Michael Morley as Malcolm, John El-Jor as Mazz, Graham Rowat as Lieutenant Hunter, Michele Ragusa as Principal Cresswood, Lison Tunick as Paige, Haley Beauregard as Stacey, Alexandra Cooke as Tracie, and Richard Putorti as Ricky with ensemble members Lauren Taylor Berkman and Vinnie Canale.
Based on the 1990 cult classic film penned by Allan Moyle and starring Christian Slater, the new musical features a book and lyrics by Jeremy Desmon, music by Jeff Thomson, and music supervision by James Sampliner.
The story follows Mark, a teen outcast, who rocks a small town by launching an underground pirate radio station from his bedroom. A concert of the show’s first act was recently staged at London’s MTFest.
The upcoming concerts are presented by special arrangement with CM Stage Productions.
