Additional casting has been announced for My First Ex-Husband, a new show from comic and The View co-host Joy Behar that will begin previews Off-Broadway January 29 at the newly renovated MMAC Theater on West 60th Street.
Directed by Randal Myler, opening night is set for February 6. A
rotating lineup of artists from theatre, TV, and film will lead the
production.
As previously reported, the first company, continuing through February 23, will feature Behar, Susie Essman (Curb Your Enthusiasm), multiple Tony nominee Tovah Feldshuh (Golda's Balcony, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend), and Adrienne C. Moore (Orange Is the New Black).
Newly announced casting includes comic Judy Gold, Emmy winner Susan Lucci (All My Children, Annie Get Your Gun), Cathy Moriarty (Raging Bull, Soapdish), and Tony winner Tonya Pinkins (Jelly’s Last Jam; Caroline or Change), who will star February 26-March 23; and Obie winner Veanne Cox (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Company), Gina Gershon (Showgirls, Boeing-Boeing), Emmy nominee Jackie Hoffman (Only Murders in the Building, Hairspray), and Andrea Navedo (Jane The Virgin), who will perform from March 26–April 20. Gershon will join the third company April 2.
In the 75-minute show, the actors "will reveal riveting true stories,
which will shock, thrill, titillate, and ultimately tug at your heart
strings," according to press notes. "In the world of the play, you’ll
meet women married to the mob, to their jobs, to their faith, to money
and ultimately to the wrong man."
The show is produced by Rose Caiola (Caiola Productions) and Cyrena Esposito (Red Letter Entertainment) with associate producers Mark Rubinsky and Tony Castrigno.
