Avett Brothers musical Swept Away plays its final performance at Broadway's Longacre Theatre December 29. The production began previews October 29 and officially opened November 19, with Michael Mayer at the helm. Read the reviews here.

Featuring songs by the folk-rock group and a book by John Logan, the musical had initially announced a closing date of December 15, only for a surge in ticket sales to give the show an extra two weeks on the Main Stem.

Leading the cast are Tony winner John Gallagher Jr. (Spring Awakening) as Mate, Stark Sands (Kinky Boots) as Big Brother, Adrian Blake Enscoe (Dickinson) as Little Brother, and Wayne Duvall (1984) as Captain, all reprising their performances from the musical's earlier mountings at Berkeley Repertory and Arena Stage.
